I'm running for District 10 States Senate because I deeply care about our community"s challenges. What sets me apart as the best candidate is my strong connection with the people. My journey reflects resilience and survival, embodying the struggles many families encounter daily in both District 10 and across South Carolina.

 LIST OF ISSUES

EDUCATION

South Carolina education system is ranked 42nd in the nation for public school education. We have to raise the bar. I pledge to sets high standards and goals to ensure students graduate from high school and college career ready. Provide South Carolina more flexibility to craft their own accountability systems while ensuring school remain accountable for all students. Set a minimum salary of $60,000 for all teachers statewide.

HEALTHCARE

Healthcare is an equal right for all people. Implement a system that provides universal healthcare  coverage with equitable financing. Stabilize health insurance markets and bring down  the cost of healthcare for all South Carolinians. Install a permanent reinsurance program, reduce healthcare  cost for low-income families.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING
South Carolina minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.  This has not changed since 2008.  A family of four is considered impoverished if they earn $30,000 or less per year. The average person making $7.25 an hour on a 40 hour week cannot afford a two bedroom apartment. There is a tremendous gap in affordable housing market that needs to be closed in local communities. We will push legislation laws where major bank corporations revise their qualifications to help the every day hard working citizen to obtain homes for their families.
